In Hakone Japan National Park, on top of a mountain, is located a lake. On a clear day Mt. Fuji can be seen from this area. This photo was taken about 11 o'clock in the morning. |

Volcano vents
By bus or auto one can visit these active vents in the Hakone National Park, Japan. Mt. Fuji can also be seen from this location. |

Steam vents
Mildly dangerous, these active vents are hot enough to boil an egg. In fact, within the Hakone park, actual eggs are boiled and available (for a small fee). One property of the water is the abundant smell of Sulphur, which turns an egg shell black when boiled. Truly, incredible, edible eggs. |

Leaving Mt. Fuji
Traveling west ( by auto) on an expressway for many miles, one can continuously appreciate the size and magnitude of Fuji-san. At certain points it feels as if you can reach out and touch Fuji. |

Into Mt. Fuji
Entering Fuji city, Fuji-san appears to be watching over you as you go about your business. Imagine being able to have a view of Mt. Fuji every day on your way to work or school! |

Goodbye Fuji-San
Mt. Fuji seems to disappear within Fuji city. Yet, there is always a thought that he is watching you. If you feel a "rumbling", it's just Fuji-san's way of saying hello! |

Akihabara
Just a few minutes train ride from Tokyo station is Akihabara - The electronic flea market of the world! From computers to televisions, many electronic parts can be found here. |

Ahikabara at night
The lights come on at dusk providing a new perspective of Akihabara. Most of Tokyo is the same, with brilliant lights lighting the night. |

Suit or Kimono?
The local town of Shuzenji, Japan (about 100 miles north of Tokyo) was having their annual parade. The picture makes one wonder how many years have passed between the traditional Japanese clothing and the man in the business suit they seemed to follow? |

Great Buddha of Kamakura
In Kamakura resides the second largest Buddha in Japan. Made of bronze and hollow on the inside, access to the inside of the statue is available, for a small fee, but watch your step as the stairs are very narrow. |

Water Well
Located near the Mishima, Japan train station (about a 10 minute walk) is this unique, mechanical method for dispensing water from a well. Mishima is a one hour bullett train (Shinkansen) ride from Tokyo. |

Izu Peninsula
A village on the west side of Izu Peninsula faces the Pacific ocean. If you strain hard enough you might even see Califirnia. |

A calm day on the water
A nice drive and fantastic scenery can be viewed by following the ocean front road for many miles around the Izu peninsula. Be sure to stop and eat at one of the many restaurants, as the seafood is always fresh. |

A Hidden Cove
Dusk enhanced the light for this small community. Rural and reclusive, the nearest large city is a 1-2 hour drive. |

Shaka
Appearing as a persons face gazing upwards, Shaka is a familiar landmark to the people living around Ohito, Japan. The world famous hot-springs and hotels of Shuzenji town are also a must see. |

How to grow Shitake mushrooms
From the top of a mountain, near Shuzenji, logs are cut to size and Shitake mushrooms started from slices cut into the wood. The climate and conditions are ideal for growing Shitake mushrooms, and the taste is even better. |

A bridge?
By auto or bus, the circular bridge is the quickest method to get from the top of one mountain to the next level. Be careful of getting dizzy or having motion sickness as this is an exhilerating ride! |

Sakura
A nice walk adjacent to a river explodes with color and the sweet scent of the cherry blossom trees. Several locations in the Izu peninsula are well known for having such beauty and tranquility. |

Cherry Blossom
Not commonly known is that the Kawazu cherry blossom tree originated in the Izu peninsula of Japan. Admired for its beauty and pleasant scent, the Kawazu Sakura is famous throughout the island and seems to announce the arrival of Spring |
